July 2022 California Minimum Wage Increases

Effective July 1, 2022, these localities in California will increase their minimum wage to these rates above the state minimum wage:

  • Alameda minimum wage: $15.75/hour
  • Berkeley minimum wage: $16.99/hour
  • Emeryville minimum wage: $17.68/hour
  • Foster City minimum wage: $15.75/hour
  • Fremont minimum wage: $16.00/hour
  • Long Beach minimum wage: $16.55/hour for concessionaire workers at the Long Beach Airport and the Long Beach Convention Center; $16.73/hour for hotel employees at hotels with 100 or more guest rooms
  • Los Angeles City minimum wage: $16.04/hour; $18.17/hour for hotel employees at hotels with 150 or more guest rooms
  • Los Angeles County (unincorporated areas) minimum wage: $15.96/hour
  • Malibu minimum wage: $15.96/hour
  • Milpitas minimum wage: $16.40/hour
  • Pasadena minimum wage: $16.11/hour
  • San Francisco minimum wage: $16.99/hour
  • Santa Monica minimum wage: $15.96/hour; $18.17/hour for hotel employees
  • West Hollywood minimum wage: $16.00/hour for 49 or fewer employees; $16.50/hour for 50 or more employees; $18.35/hour for hotel employees

The current minimum wage for the state of California is $14.00/hour for employers with 25 employees or less, and $15.00/hour for employers with 26 employees or more.

Employers should adjust the wages for the hours worked beginning July 1st, 2022 at these locations for of all of their employees, including remote workers.

In addition, all work locations in these jurisdictions must have the current minimum wage postings.
