California has revised the “Notice to Employee” form (DSLE-NTE) to include information about the new Paid Sick Leave Law. Employers are required by law to provide all new employees with a “Notice to Employee” at the time of hiring. The form provides specific information about the employer, wages, Workers’ Compensation and, now, Paid Sick Leave. The new form went into effect January 1 of this year. Be sure you are using the latest revision (rev 11/2014) for your new hires and discard any previous versions. To comply with the ACA reporting requirements, employers with 50 or more Full Time Equivalent (FTE) employees will need to file forms 1094-C and 1095-C with the IRS starting in 2016 for the 2015 tax year. These forms are used to report information required about offers of health coverage and employee enrollment in health coverage.
